Homemade butter how-to

Homemade Butter!
Buy a small container of heavy cream. Fill a jar halfway. Then shake! Takes about 8 minutes to separate. Drain off excess buttermilk. Use the same day. (If you want to store it, you need to rinse it more. Just add ice water, and drain. Repeat until water is clear, then you can store it in the fridge for a few weeks.) You can also use the buttermilk that you drained off to make biscuits!

Sweetened condensed milk paint

Open a can of sweetened condensed milk, add a few drops
of food color and paint! Takes a few days to dry, but dries very shiny.
My 2 year old loved the taste.
I've also heard of people using this paint on sugar cookies. :)

Marshmallow painting

A little water or milk, a few drops of food coloring,
and some marshmallows are all you need for this activity!

Yup, there's a bite missing from one of them. It's all edible, so it's a great activity for kids!

It's the simple things...

My daughter gets so excited when she hears the ice
cream man come through our neighborhood. :) I love that it
makes it feel like a simpler time...sitting out on
the front porch eating ice cream in the summer, it's almost like magic. :)
